Monday Morning Review

That is what seemed to be sitting in front of the Powell River Kings net this weekend. Two games played, only 42 shots against and most importantly, zero goals.

The Kings stymied the Merritt Centennials 3-0 on Friday and also goose egged the Trail Smoke Eaters one night later. I find the Trail win impressive, as coming into that contest, the line of Sam Mellor, Scott Jacklin and Travis St. Denis registered 9 points the game before. To top it off, the following afternoon, the Smoke Eaters scored 5 on Nanaimo and their top line recorder 15 points. That must say something about how well Powell River is playing in their own zone.

And it gets better....

This morning the CJHL has come out with their weekly top 20 rankings. For the first time this season, Powell River has been given an honourable mention.

Later today I will look at the big road weekend for the Kings,
