Kings Conditioning Camp, Hockey Academy, Skills & Puck Development and Power Skating.

• A reminder to young hockey players in Powell River. Today is the first day of the Powell River Kings Conditioning Camp.

The camp kicks off today, starting with the Initiation division hitting the ice from 5-6pm at the Hap. Atom & Peewee's at 6:15 and then Bantam & Midget going at 730-8:30pm.
(Players are still able to register at the Kings office at a cost of $125 for six sessions.)

The camp  goes every Monday & Wednesday, with the last session going on September 30th.

• The Hockey Academy is still accepting participants for Phase #1. It will be an after school program for Pewee, Bantam & Midget Players. The Academy runs right after school from 3:30-6:30pm.

The $275 registration fee gets you an hour and fifteen minutes of ice a day focusing on all areas of the game. The players will go through intense dry land sessions gym & core workouts, plyometric workouts, nutritional seminars, Junior hockey and & goaltending seminars as well.  Also instructors will go through video, Q & A sessions and homework study sessions.

The Academy are every Wednesday, from September 22nd to December 1st.

• The Skills & Puck Development  program gets going October 4th and runs every Monday for eight sessions ending on December 6th.

The program is players from Initiation right up to Midget level.  The Kings coaching staff will focus on different aspects of puck handling, puck protection, face-offs, puck cycles, chips & support, shooting and passing

For those goalies, this is a great opportunity to get tons of rubber and receive valuable 1-on-1 instruction from Mike Garteig and Sean Maguire.

•  Finally, the Kings staff  is still accepting registration for the Power Skating program. The eight session programs starts October 5th and runs every Tuesday until November 30th.  ($125)
• Targeted for Initiation, Atom & Peewee players

Players will be instructed on balance, edges, stride extension/recovery, crossovers/tight turns, starts/stops, pivots and backward skating.

Each program only has room for 25 players so sign up fast!!!
