Dogs nip Kings 3-1

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs beat the Powell River at their own game tonight, hard work.

It was a dissappointing start to the road trip for Powell River, after all week stating the importance of getting off on the right foot. The Kings looked flat for the better half of the first period, however did have their moments and were only trailing by one after one. Plenty of motiviation for the second, right?

The Kings did have their moments in the middle frame, including five chances on the power-play, however it just didn't seem to be their night. If it was sticks breaking at the most inopportune time or players miss firing on sure goal opportunities to just plain bad luck with the puck. All in all, it just wasn't the boys game in green night.

We did see emotions boil in the 2nd with numerous infractions handed out and a fight between Justin DaSilva and Kyle Weber. However, only one player was doing the throwing, and that was big number 2-5. Kudos to Weber for hanging in there for a good minute and change.

Tomorrow won't be any easier for the Kings as they are welcomed by a hungry Clippers team seeking their first home win.

Back in the morning.
