Tuesday Update

Welcome to the month of November, or what it is more commonly referred to as “Movember.”  The Kings, and many others, will be attempting to grow moustaches this month in order to help raise awareness for prostate cancer research.   For further details on  "Movember" click the link at the bottom of the page.

Back to hockey, the CJHL has come out with it’s weekly Top 2rankings. Despite going 3-0 and owning the best record in the BCHLthe Kings remain unchanged at number 10.  The ranking has this broadcaster baffled.   By reading the description of the criteria, it makes no sense to me how these rankings are finalized each week.  The complete list of the ranking can be found here

Congratulations to Kings forward Daniel  Schuler. The Webster, New York native committed to the Rochester Institute of Technology this past weekend. Schuler has tallied 5 goals and 7 assists in 17 games this season.  The 18 year-old ‘s production has dropped off as of late, however it isn’t for a lack of effort.   Furthermorehe has been hampered by two separate injuries in the past month, including the latest knock he picked up on Friday.  The BCHL is known as a 19 and 20 year-old’s league, and Schuler will have one more season with the Kings before he goes to school.  I could see Schuler scoring 25-30 goals next season.

Alberni Valley’s Casey Bailey has been named the Player of the Week. From the BCHL website:

Bailey helped lead the Alberni Valley to four of a possible six points in three weekend games. On Friday, the 19-year old scored twice -- including the tying goal late in regulation -- in the Bulldogs' 4-3 overtime victory over Cowichan Valley. The next night he collected a hat trick and four points in an 8-4 triumph over the Capitals. Bailey then closed out the week with a goal in a narrow loss to Nanaimo.
Overall, Bailey finished the week with five goals and two assists in three games. He now sits on 10 goals and 11 assists for the season, which are good for second on the Bulldogs in scoring.
Congratulations and well deserved for Casey .

Justin DaSilva was tapped for Honorable mention.
