Clippers Double Kings 6-3

Bad start and bad finish for Powell River.

The Kings looked flat from the start spotting Nanaimo a two goal lead in the first. Not all was lost as at one point Ryan Elliot scored his first BCHL goal to give Powell River a 3-2. That was short lived.

Andrew Gladiuk scored 31 seconds later, the first of four straight for Nanaimo. Sam Lebrecque scored the winner on the power-play 50 seconds into the third.

  • The Kings will need to bring more energy and emoition to Friday's rematch in Nanaimo. The Clippers were missing six regulars and only played with three lines and two AP's but looked to be the team with all the gusto.
  • Powell Rivers goals, all three, were from rebounds off the pads of Charles Pelletier. How come they didn't continue that in the third? The team seemed to press when they were down and didn't keep with what worked.
  • Look for a team ready from the warm-up come Friday. It's rare you would see a team like this come out with a copy cat performance of tonight.
