KInge take game one 6-2

Powell River didn't look like a team that had 16 days off between games. Chad Niddery and Dan Schuler each scored twice in a 6-2 win to take the opening game of their Coastal Conference Semi-Final.

Craig Dalrymple and Cohen Adair also scored for the Kings. Schuler finished with three points and Adair also had a helper.  Andrew Pettitt also chipped in with three assists.  Mitch Labrache and Pearce Eviston replied for the Grizzlies.

The Kings squandered a 2-0 first period lead.  Victoria scored with 17 seconds remaining in the first and tied it halfway through the second. However the Kings responded with four straight to close out the game.

Lots of penalties in this one with the Kings going 1/7 on the power-play and Victoria going 0/6 with a short handed goal against.

More tomorrow.
